Our February 9th meetup continues where Chris' discussion of test and build automation left off.
We are extremely fortunate to have Kohsuke Kawaguchi from Sun who will introduce us to Hudson, an open-source continuous integration (CI) system, which improves the productivity of a development team by automating various things. CI is getting adopted more and more, as computers get cheaper and more capable. For people new to Hudson, Kohsuke will walk us through the main features, discuss why CI matters, and how Hudson can use a large number of computers effectively. For those who already know Hudson, Kohsuke will talk about the current state of the project and the community, as well as what the future directions are.
Kohsuke spoke about CI & Hudson at Java One 2009 and won Java One 2008 Duke's Choice Award for it, so you can be sure it will be worth your while to hear from him first-hand.
Note, this meeting is taking place at our new venue sponsor: SUPINFO of San Francisco at 2738 Hyde St (between Beach and North Point Streets, near Cable Car Turntable).
Pizzas for this event will be sponsored by Diana Henninger from TEKsystems and refreshments will be brought in by Gerry Cohen from Guidewire Software!
Be sure to stick around until the end to get a shot at winning books and other interesting goodies from Sun, O'Reilly, Packt Pub, as well as a copy of IntelliJ IDEA from JetBrains.
